Earthing Systems

Earth rods, earth plates, inspection pits, clamps, bonds and earth bars from CASK STEEL: everything needed to give fault and lightning currents a safe, low-resistance path into the ground. Manufactured at our factory in Dilovası, Kocaeli.

Why earthing matters

Earthing (grounding) connects electrical systems and structures to the ground. In the event of an electrical fault or a lightning strike, the earthing system gives the excess current a low-resistance path to dissipate safely. This prevents dangerous voltages that cause electric shock and fires, and protects sensitive equipment from surges.

A complete earthing system from CASK STEEL includes:

  • Earth rods and conductor systems
  • Mechanical earth clamps and bonds
  • Exothermic welding (CASKWeld)
  • Earth bars and equipotential bonding
Copper, copper-bonded and stainless steel earth rods

Earth electrodes (earth rods)

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose copper, copper-bonded or stainless steel earth rods?

Solid copper rods have the highest conductivity and suit soils with high salt and moisture content. Copper-bonded rods combine a steel core with a copper surface and can be coupled to reach greater depths. Stainless steel rods are chosen where other buried metals could cause galvanic corrosion.

How can earth resistance be reduced in dry or rocky ground?

Use longer or additional rods, earth plates or mesh, and surround the electrode with a conductive backfill such as Marconite or bentonite.

Do you supply complete earthing kits for a project?

Yes. Rods, clamps, conductors, inspection pits, earth bars and exothermic welding materials can be supplied together for one project. Send us your earthing drawing or bill of quantities.

Need an earthing system for your project?

Send us your drawings, soil conditions or bill of quantities and we will quote the complete system.
